Jodhpur? Harem? Errrr...

The lack of knowledge is the reason why I don't know the name of this pants. Bought it because I love the colorful combination. But it had been in my wardrobe since I forget, had NO COURAGE to wear it in public! Hahahaha

Can you help me pick how should I wear this pants? T_T not good at styling... And please suggest me a way to wear it, hehehe..
*Best answer will get a cartoonized painting of yourself, drawn by me :) Sorry for the cheap prize hehe
*UPDATE: best answers had been chosen. Thank youuuu ^^

1. Wearing black top
 Excuse the unmatching shoes :p

2. Wearing turquoise top

3. Wearing hot-pink top

4. Your suggestion

Award for Redecorating My Room? Ehehe...

Salaam :D
Last weekend I re-layout my room. Well, since I rarely do any sport (ummm, NEVER is a more perfect word), I consider cleaning and changing my room layout as a sport... hahaha

Then I made a simple craft:
Carnival Flags :)
Using pink unused-paper-bag & magenta wrapping paper. Added bones to the magenta ones so they don't swirl.

Aaaaannnddd, received this beautiful award from Rizahati and Prahmahita... Thank youuuuuuu ^^

accepting this award, i am asked to do the following:
1. thank and link to the person who awarded me this award.
2. share 8 things about myself.
3. pay it forward to 8 bloggers that i have recently discovered.
4. contact those blogger and tell them about their awards.
8 things about me:
(argh this list can took me half an hour to write >.< what should I write?? what? what?)
1. Loving creativity sooo much! Wishing to have a room full of cartons & ribbons & pencil colors ---- ummm wait... this is my blogger profile -___-"
2. Sometimes can not difference the line between being stingy or economical.
3. Had found what I really want for life since I started to blog at the end of 2009 :) Thank you blog...
4. Still trying to find what really looks good on my body shape, which is pear. Yeah PEAR. Many tips from the internet, but none can really answer my question, modest clothing for pear shaped body.
5. My natural face is grumpy face! Hahaha... so if you meet me, you would think I am angry or feeling bad.
6. Worn jilbab/hijab since the second year of highscool and had never ever ever thought to let it off.
7. I am truly thinking what to write. Ummmmm this can take me so long.
8. Well, since I cannot pass the 7th, why I should write the 8th? Hehehe just ask me a question, I'm not good at telling stories.

And I'll pass this award to 8 blogs that I have recently discovered:
1. KIVITZ by Fitri Aulia
2. DN by Irna Shahram
3. The Unpredictable by Anisa Nisa_Nichan
4. Nyala by Dina Nyala
5. 3f's by Ajjah
6. Helga Bonanza by Restu
7. Ningnungning by mbak Naning
8. It's Me Lulu by Lulu L.

DIY: Scarf Hanger...

... in no more than Rp 10.000!! (USD 1)
What you need: Unused magazine; double tape (USD 0.6); ribbon +- 4 meters ($ 0.2); clothes hanger; scissor.

* I used a pencil to help me rolled the paper -- also to create hole in the pipe.
* Insert a ribbon! Create a ladder! As much as you want!
* Then tie the ribbon to cloth hanger
PS: knot the ribbon at the last intersection of the paper-pipes *ah bingung jelasinnya pake Inggris... pokok'e di perpotongan pipa yg terakhir, tuh pitanya diiket ya kawan, biar gak mlengse2 *halah apa ya bhs Indonesianya*

Looks easy, huh? :D I was just thinking to buy a scarf hanger, and I thought, why not making it? From CRAP to CRAFT!! Hahaha...

I made this yesterday. Now it's still okay. I am a little bit worried about the plastic hanger (well, the magazine-paper-pipes are not things to be worried, they're strong u know..)
I hope the plastic hanger could resist the weight of my scarves. And I need to make more coz there are still many more scarves in my wardrobe that's sooo messy!

Hijabified: Tsumori Chisato

Ladieeessss... Do you know Tsumori Chisato?

Tsumori Chisato is a Japanese fashion designerShe attended Tokyo's Bunka Fashion College. She began work with Issey Miyake in 1977 and started her own line in 1990. She took her work to Paris in 2003 and has built a following in the United States. Her aesthetic focuses on prints and has a "healthy dose of manga/bohemian cuteness".
I loooove how she mix & match patterns, playing with colors, and keep everything sweet. In this collection, she designed outfits that don't show too much skin. Modest & pretty :) Source: Tsumori Chisato AW 2010-11 collection

Cute! I imagine it like at Aladin's story :D Love the head piece
Left: aaaa cute bolero!! Right: Lovely dress! That big ribbon adds a special touch
What a beautiful pattern she designed! and love how the drapery looks :)

And how about a Hijabified Look? Do you miss this section on my blog? :P

Extra length for the skirt!
Well, it's cuter when it's shorter I know :D but we don't want our thigh to be seen rite?

Just wear a chest-covering tee and add hijab :D
Aaaawww the color mesmerizes me *_* love love looovee...

What do you think of her designs?
Do you have a special request for this Hijabified section? Tell me if you have favorite designer :D

What I love from HFW: I love checking Em's blog everyday to see what will people wear today :D And it's beyond my expectation to be able to post something new everyday :)
What I've already posted for a week.
After the event, I was categorized as "an easy going low maintenance sense of style"
Hahahaha so true :P

Do you have some thought on HFW (do you like it or not, what do you expect, what you don't like, etc etc)?
Please answer the survey here :) Thank youuuu lovely readers ^^

HFW Day 7: Running errands

Salaam... Well, today is our latest day of HFW :)
A cup of life.... grocery shopping, picking up kids (ups, I haven't had kids!), running here and there...
All those random things should be done, and no time to prepare clothes to be stylish (besides, who cares of your clothes when you go to a market? :P)

At those moments I'll just take a random shirt, random skirt, and a matching jilbab :D
In a hurry! Hehehe
Source of background picture: here

Visit all lovely hijabi ladies at Modesty Theory today :) Thank you Em for inviting me in this Hijabi Fashion Week... And joining HFW made me blog everyday (something I usually don't have time for). Hihihi...

So how's your weekend? What will you wear at random moments? I'm not a fashion junkie... As long as my clothes are modest and not bad to be seen, it's enough for me :P

HFW Day 6: I'll be waiting for you :)

HFW day 6 theme is "Lovestoned" - Date Night w/ the Hubby
Well, since I haven't had a husband, probably I would wear this kind of outfit for going out with him :)

Dear my future husband, I want to have a dinner in a beautiful villa near a beach or lake...
Source of background picture: here :)

Drape cardi: Elizabeth (Elizabeth toko tas itu lhooo :D) / Ethnic brooch: malioboro / Cotton.ink navy neptune dress / mom's hat for costume party -_-

Hihihi I saw those hat before I do photoshoot and I thought the color match my cardi & my dream date (kind of a vacation) :P
Hopefully one day I can be a good wife for my husband and a good mom for my kids. Love you all, even though I haven't met you all :')

PS: Thank you for new followers and readers who gave me sweet comments :">
Will try my best to visit your blogs soon at my free time :)

Besides to know the culture of my lovely country Indonesia, I also have an interest to Japan's things. Once when I was still at high school, there's a Japan exhibition at my school. Me and my best friends were sooo happy playing traditional Japanese toys. And we got some origami bookmark as the prize :) ahhhh what a beautiful memory..

Soooo if there's by any chance I could go to a Japanese festival at weekend, I would wear this outfit :D
A kimono-inspired skirt / long tee / net cardigan

*sorry for the lame editing of photoshop :P rush rush not neat hehehee

Found: a Nice Adv :)

Just watched this advertorial via Ajjah...

"This adv really touched me. of how in relationships, love sometime fades. and you need to do something about it. i mean, of course u love each other but sometimes we are too busy with other things and moving on with our lives and we tend to neglect those small things that keep us close to each other."

Ahhh so true :') Me wanna cry watching this video *am I too sensitive or what?*
Thank you Ajjah for holding a contest...
...so that I have to find my favorite post you made (amongst all of your wonderful reviews and creative DIYs)... then I found this post. Thanks for sharing, Ajjah. Now I post this at my blog so that in future, if I need a remembrance, I could stop and go back to be wise, especially about the meaning of love :)

Love is not just a passive feeling. Love is an action.
PS: Visit Ajjah's contest, maybe you have a chance to win Maysaa's head scarf :D And she has a lovely blog, too!
PS (again): heyyy in this advertorial, the woman wears hijab! I hope this could happen to Indonesian advertorial, too :D

HFW Day 3: Girl's night out!

Salaam dear ladies :)

Actually I wore this outfit on Saturday for work, then continued to a bookstore with my brother at afternoon. That day, "Indie Clothing Expo" was held at Gramedia Bookstore Surabaya. Me and my brother bought nothing, loosing our appetite to shop... oh so crowded!!
Me don't like crowd >.<
Then we bought a book and drank milkshake at the cafe :P

Sooo... the theme was actually Girl's night out... But here, I used the outfit for brother & sister's night out :D
Striped dress: vintage find / drape cardigan: Elizabeth / blah blah blah who cares ;D
Hijab styling... sort of Dian Pelangi's style hehehe

Wearing this outfit, I was called "Bu.." (Maam) at the bookstore! Do I look that old??? T_T
I hope people didn't think that my brother was my son -_-"

*BTW this Wednesday is Eid Mubarak at Indonesia :) May Allah bless us all & gives us wisdom and faith like Nabi Ibrahim, amiin

HFW Day 2: Celebrate the good times

Assalamu'alaikum ladies :D
HFW Post day 2!!! Yayayayyay :)
This is what I want to wear for Eid, hihihi lots of colors! (unless if my mother tell me not to :p -- in case it hurts people's eyes)
*you know I rarely wear lots of colors in one outfit hehehe*
Pink-longer back hoodie shirt: Omara *discounted item! hehehe* / Turquoise hijab + brown inner: Claro / Ethnic necklace
I wish those shirt was longer to cover my feet...

Hmmm I want to create a bedtime story "Little Pink Riding Hood" ^o^
Sooo, little pink riding hood went to grandma's house, but on her way she met a hungry wolf! Then she and the wolf walked together to grandma's house, and then with grandma, they pray for Eid. After that they eat lamb's meat :D Hahaha happy ever after..

Alternatives of hijab style:
a. Braided hijab (see tutorial here) -- should add another scarf to cover the chest!; b. Swish side (tie hijab at the back, pull the 2 layers to the front, then let one layer to cover ur chest); c. unspeakable :-?

For more ideas of Eid outfit, visit Modesty Theory :D She hosted the Hijabi Fashion Week!

Purple Pour Vous

What I wore to work yesterday:
Oh yeah I do wear these sort of things... This is what I like about working in a non formal job :D
Purple stripes shirt / boxy tee / grey skirt / doll brooch

Yesterday I had a problem caused by my decision of choosing a wrong printing company. My company's catalog turned out to be soooo dark :( *sigh* and I felt guilty of it.

One thing cheered me up, I've received my order to Pourvous body care. Hehehe Alhamdulillah I won their latest competition (writing an essay about our dream). I got a voucher Rp 175.000 to be spent on their products.
Energetic ginger body butter / milk body scrub / moisturizing foot cream

Body butter: I've bought green tea body butter before this, and I like the green tea more... Well, the ginger body butter's smell is fresh like lemon... (I'm not a citrus-lover :P) Kinda greasy, but I know I need this body butter due to my dry skin
Body scrub: the scrub is rough, but skin feels smoother after that... however I've already fallen in love with Susan's spa body scrub and no product has beat it...
Foot cream: I love the cold effect on my feet.. :D
Overall: I feel safe using these products coz they claimed to be natural (paraben free, lanolin free, color free, methanol fragrance free)... But they're soooooo expensiveeee! :(

Good news that wiped away my worries: today all problems are solved... Thank you Allah... :) Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar!

Random outfit: Pattern Mixing

Ahaha since I don't have anything to post... I'll post my outfit few months ago :D Worn this outfit around April to my mother's office and a bookstore.
Well I'm not good at mixing patterns, and I thought I'd look weird. But no one stared at me me while at the book store that day, so I guess that means okay :P hahaha fashion fails!!
Pardon the face >.<
Sole Mio flowery shirt, hand manset, mom's striped pants, big bag (mangga dua), white moccasin shoes

Been quite busy these days... Ah, maybe this is what it feels if we own a company... Problems kept running in my head even after business hours. Lesson taken: when at home, leave all those problems and enjoy time with family. More and more istighfar...

Don't forget to pray for our country, hope Allah save us all, and forgive our sins... amin..

Dream, dream, dream...

Everyone is dreaming. But only a few makes it real :)

Since I was a little kid, I knew I've loved creativity sooo much. I remembered I've started to paint since I was 3 years old, and loved to create birthday cards and to sell newspaper that I made myself :D

But as we're growing older, logic came to our brain and we started to think based on calculations. For some of us, we started to forget our passion and dreams, to prepare "a brighter future". That's what happened to me back then. I once had an intention to study at Sekolah Menengah Seni Rupa, or Art-High School... but my logic told me to go to regular, favorite high school in town. Well, I've never regret what I've chosen, because those past is an important part which created who I am right now.

Last year, I was officially an industrial engineer. My friends were starting to work at big companies such as banks or oil companies. During my time being unemployed, I started to blog and browsing and browsing and browsing. Then suddenly I "woke up" from reality, back to my dreams!! My visions which were blurred by perception and definition of success, became clear. I wanna study art, I wanna design a lot... I wanna have my own company, my own fashion label, my own free time! It's such a big dream for me coz I have lack of knowledge at fashion and entrepreneurship. Will I be able to do that?

God hears our deepest wish :)

Suddenly a garment industry called me after seeing my blog. Can you imagine that? After months of applying for job, I was founded... someone sees me... because of my 'creative' blog! I'd took that chance! I can study a lot at the job!

Now, it can be said that I'm living my dream. Working everyday as a learning process, and being able to take a course twice a week at Fashion School. Isn't that cool? Hehehe (of course it's cool for ME because it's MY DREAM)

Some people maybe sees me wrong. "You're an engineer aren't you?" or "Why didn't you try to apply at X company? They offer big salary.."

I realized that life is too short to not following our passion & dreams. Whatever people say, this is OUR life. WE are THE ONE that live every single day on our chosen path.
Everyone who is brave enough to take the risk before me, maybe is hundreds step forward. So many people out there who is much moooreee creative than me. I'll try to catch up! I'm still far far away... But I will catch you my dreams!! And the question is, will I be able to do that?

To be continued :) wait for the result! Hehehehe...

And this is an entry for Pourvous Body Care competiton :) Love their products...

In ONE PARAGRAPH: To be counted as an entry at Piacerre Sinyorin's competition ;D
Dream is one most precious thing people have. Living our dream will maybe not make us richer or more popular, but it will simply make you happy to follow your own passion. People may think you take the wrong path, but because YOU're the one LIVING in your own live, why should bother any wronged perception? (As long as we're not breaking law or religion :D) My dream is to have my own clothing company. Why? Simple reason: I LOOOVE creativity, I want to be able to choose my own free time, and I wanna make sure I can be able to have quality time with my future family :)

Tutorial: Braided Hijab

Assalamu'alaikum... Voila, here comes again the Hijab Tutorial hehehe...
hijab tutorial inspiration

Actually this hijab style was inspired by miss Hanna from Hijabscarf :)

Here are the steps...
What's needed: Inner hijab, Square hijab, 4 pins
Hijab tutorial
1. Wear a basic hijab to cover your ear and neck. Remember that it's part of our aurat and don't let them be seen ;)
I used dark brown spandex headdress by Claro and light brown inner by Tuneeca (worn backside)
You can wear a basic hijab, too :)
 2. Add a square hijab (that has been fold triangle). To be neater, use pins: 1 over your head (so the hijab won't slip), 1 at each side below your ears
3. Bring all remaining of hijab to one side
4. Make braid from the fabric, pin at the end so it won't fall apart.

I took the braid to the other side of my neck and pin it with a corsage. Or you can just left it hanging there :D
Voila it's done...

Click here for my fabric corsage tutorial ^o^

Ecoritage Fashion Show

Assalamu'alaikum... Yesterday, me and my friends had to wear our own designed costume for ARVA Annual Fashion Show.
Here's what I wore :) My own design. It's a batwing cardigan, based on this post.

What do you think about this pose?
a. It is "Capek dehh" pose ("Whoa I'm tired!")
b. It's "Silauu meeenn!!" pose ("Awhh the sunshine's too bright!")

Anyway, I'm an evening class student (short lesson) of Arva Surabaya. We, and teens program's student must wear our own designed clothes in "Stripes & Volume" or "Plaid" and had a parade at the stage. That was a fascinating moment :) Sooo nervous to walk like a model at stage... can you imagine that?

And here's what the show looked like:
One-year fashion design student (like a college, much more serious than the evening class I took) presented their designs, worn by model.

Some of the clothes (source: beritafoto.net)

Those gown were made by the Sewing & Pattern Making student. Cool, huh?

Hehehe since I didn't take many photos of myself during the show, here's one snap when I arrived home.
What do you think about this pose?
a. It is "Aww my head is itchy" pose
b. It's "Long lasting deodorant" pose

I do feel my costume was so plain compared by others. But I just love simplicity <3
Anyway, does any of you curious about my hijab style? *Please say yes! hehehehe* I've already took pictures of step-by-step wearing it :P
Also, how to make those fabric corsage. Wait for my next post :)

Hehehe this post supposed to appear at Monday.. i dunno what's wrong with the scheduled post..
What I wore last week:
Wearing brown drape cardigan + brown belt + brown skirt + butterfly scarf to work.

A question, needs to be answered honestly; GIRL ONLY:
Does this kind of outfit makes pear-shaped body exposed even more?

Well, I'm on my journey to find perfect kind of clothes to cover pear-shaped body perfectly :D
Coz I've seen many tips of do's & dont's.. but still can't find the perfect fit...
let the journey begin ^o^

*PS: alhamdulillah I won Dija's giveaway :D thank you mba Elsaaa

Hahaha if I keep living like this, I'm gonna be broke... Only for today I promise :) And maybe I'll sell my high heel shoes after the show since I'm not used to those kind of shoes -_-

Tomorrow I'll be joining a walking-class at my design lesson.. Yeah, although each student only have few seconds to spend at the catwalk, that few seconds will be a disastrous moment if we dunno how to walk like a model :)) wakakaka

Good nite everyone... ;)

A post for a blogger friend

Dear mba Elsa, this post is special for you. Celebrating Dija's half years old, mba Elsa held a giveaway.

I wanna say happy half-birthday to Dija... A sweet baby, who has lost her mom at her day of birth. Luckily, she has Allah who always protect her, and a very-loving aunt, mba Elsa.
Reading your blog, how you love your little niece, really touches me to be a good mom someday :')
So happy half birthday to Dija... You still have years to come. But no worry, because you're showered with love. Getting bigger and smarter and prettier, always be healthy and happy :D

*those picture was drawn by me with photoshop, except for the green leaves & white lace they're from deviantart brushes--sorry I forgot :(
And the font, of course it's not my handwriting :)

Ied Holiday Part 2

Assalamu'alaikum :D
So here's the next story of my Ied Holiday... Well I put many pictures at once, sorry for the bad clarity... who wants to see my pictures actually? -_- hahaha

7th Day holiday
Jogjaaa (Yogyakarta)... We do visit this city because my mother insisted us to see a boutique named 'Putri Malu'. My mother was a big fans. The label's name was Belle Cloud but then it disappear, and Mom heard that Belle Cloud changed its name to Putri Malu and open its boutique only in a museum at Yogyakarta.
At first I wasn't interested at all about visiting museum. Then we arrived. It's located on Jalan Kaliurang. Museum Ulen Sentalu -- Art & Heritage of Javanese.
Waoooowww when we got there, I was soooo mesmerized like, "OOoOOOOOhhh......"
The most beautiful museum I've ever seen :D Here's some photograph of the 'not forbidden to be photographed area'.

As you've seen, there were so many trees. Well, getting inside the museum, you'll feel like you're in a jungle labyrinth at ancient time. Luckily, there's a guide who will bring you to rooms and rooms full of antique treasures of Indonesia. Too bad we couldn't capture the museum. What's inside? Batik, heritage, and stories of Yogyakarta's aristocratic kingdom :)
I've never thought would fall in love with the stories. But I did. Ah you should experience it yourself :D
Then when the tour's over, we're allowed to take photographs (outside the heritage tour area).
  • The tour took +- 50 minutes (but you won't get bored)
  • Better when it's not raining
  • There's a boutique inside, you can visit after the tour. But if you're willing to buy something you should prepare much money. DOWA Bag (IDR 300K - 800K), Putri Malu clothes with beautiful batik & embroidery (IDR 200K - 1200K) *sigh*
  • And a beautiful antique cafe is built above the boutique. Perfect place for Dad to wait Mom shopping :))

Then we went to Moro Lejar restaurant. Well, the plan is to go to Surabaya soon but Mom & Dad were curious to go to Moro Lejar first. It's a famous "Lesehan" restaurant amongst tourists.
We can look koi fish below our gazebo :D And the food was delicioso!!! Even the Tempe Mendoan, yummyyyy.... Love: Tempe Mendoan, Urap-urap, Honey-baked-shrimp, Kremes chicken. I drank Pletok Beer. Hehehe not an alcoholic drink of course. It's just ginger water :)
Because it's already afternoon and Dad felt tired, we decided to add one more day at Jogja.

7th Day holiday
On our way to go back to Surabaya, once again Mom and Dad turned other way. A small village made them curious. It's Boyolali, the city of brass crafts. For Mom who worked at a catering, it's a heaven. All beautiful decorations with unique designs. The crafter imported them to many countries.
And then we visit Sragen (our journey became long coz we often turned to other city), special to visit an organic-food restaurant: Pondok Padi. I must say that the food was sooo niceee.... And you can be sure that the food is healthy because it's organic! No pesticide and chemicals.

After visiting all of those place, we were very satisfied. Heading to Surabaya again, alhamdulillah...
A long long vacation... Hope next year we could experience another great journey...

Ied Holiday Part 1

Assalamu'alaikum... how are youuuu :D
Glad to have time to fill this blog again ^^ For us Indonesian, we're so lucky to have the chance for long holiday of Idul Fitri..
From the tweet of @ahmadgozali, I remember some words:
"For those who could enjoy long holiday, be grateful. Many people have to work soon after Idul Fitri.
And for those who don't have the chance to feel the holiday because you gotta work, be grateful. There are millions of unemployed people looking for job."
Be grateful to Allah for every condition, because only Him knows whats best :)

Well I wanna share some stories (and of course, photos :p)
1st Day of Idul Fitri
Well, this day I accompanied my Mom working... What?? Working on Idul Fitri? Yes. Well, my Mom & her family runs a family business: Sonokembang Catering *hey hey I'm promoting yayayayy :D* And that day, a special request came from Sekretaris Negara: Open House! That means the catering had to supply food from morning to evening for the guests... I didn't help too much, though...
What I wore:
Cotton.ink maxi dress, Grey blazer, Grey scarf, Wondershoe.
Not so many colors, huh?

By afternoon my father picked us and we went to Bogor to visit my grandma's brother.
*** Too bad at Bogor we didn't have the chance to eat Pizza Kayu Bakar @Kedai Kita; Kue Ape; Taoge Goreng & Es Sekoteng @Bogor Permai hehehe... favorite supper!!!

2nd Day of Idul Fitri
Back to Cimahi, my Grandma's house.. Had a family reunion (from my father's side).

3rd Day holiday
Went to Bandung... walking around Factory Outlets... alhamdulillah I didn't spend much money hehehe *hemat*

4th Day holiday
Went to Jakarta again, visiting my Grandma's oldest sister (from my mom's side). She is 95 years old now :D alhamdulillah...
Grandma's sister, we call her Eyang Budhe, who often wrote letters to her niece...

Spend the night at my uncle's apartment *wow that was my first time experiencing sleeping in an appartment* NDESO mode: ON

View from balcony... Hey I couldn't see the sunset!! Those buildings were too high! Give me back the birds & the bees, please...

5th Day holiday
Journey home, visit Wonosobo to sleep at an Agrowisata Cottage. Arrived at night... what a long road...

6th Day holiday
Ahhh finally we could see the view of the Agrowisata at Tambi tea factory (Wonosobo)... Fresh air, and vast tea garden... Take a deep breath... you won't feel the air at the city :) alhamdulillah...
fresh fresh fresh...

Then we continue our journey to Dieng... There were mount crater, lake, and other place to visit...
Ahahaha.. silauuuu... BTW My brother never smile at camera... so pardon him :p

Actually I did flying fox above Telaga Warna (Color Lake)... Too bad the camera didn't capture my action, hehehe *crying*

There's more to come! To be continued...
